Teutates - Celts in the Taunus

The Rhine-Main area in the 1st century B.C.

From the fertile fields of the Vortaunus you can see the walls of a Celtic city shining in the sunlight on the first hills of the Taunus. Ox carts, fully loaded with goods, drive along the paths toward the city. After the merchants have passed through the well-guarded gates of the city, they offer their goods at the market, of course not without first asking for the blessing of the gods. The nobles of the Celtic tribe, who rule over a large area from this city, also shop at the market, paying with the coveted silver coins. After good business, in the evening there is a great feast with feast and drink.

Something like this could have happened in the 1st century BC. But with which goods did the merchants trade? Which gods were worshipped? How were the guards of the city armed? How were the Celts dressed? And what did the money of the Celts look like? And what were the favorite dishes of the Celts?

We from the Celtic group Teutates make a section of the assortment of goods of the Celts themselves at museum festivals and camps held regularly in the summer; clothing, leatherwork, knives, weapons, etc.. And in the evening we celebrate with Celtic food and drinks.

Every first Wednesday of the month, experiences, tips and tricks are exchanged at a meeting. Interested visitors are welcome to attend. And in the summer we are happy about a visit to our camp events. The dates and venues can be found under "Events".

For the regulars' table we ask for prior registration under info@teutatesnet.de

But who were the "Celts"? Here is an overview of the "fabled people".
